APRIL 27th 2007

Richard crawled away from the Lower East Side with a head full of stitches and a busted acoustic guitar. Somehow he ended up in Raleigh NC, where he fell in with a Tattoo Biker Club that played Rock N' Roll, called The Luckiest Girls.

Richard Bacchus & The Luckiest Girls are headed back to the Black Leather Bosom of Madhattan and this time it's personal. He's gonna find that dude that Split his head open, and that other dude that stole his busted acoustic guitar and...

HE'S GONNA MAKE EM PAY!.

They'll be playing Punk Rock & Roll songs from Richard's upcoming solo album plus some Classics from his 70/90's Gutter Punk band
D Generation.

"Richard Bacchus and the Luckiest Girls mix the sparkle and boogie of T. Rex with the sleazy street wise sneer of the New York Dolls and top it off with a healthy dose of angst-ridden punk pop in the vein of the Buzzcocks and the Pixies. Bacchus' tunes remind one of the concise rock n' roll narratives of Chuck Berry's Maybelline or Memphis, TN set within a vivid "Mean Streets" environment worthy of the best of Gansta Rap (Nas, Biggie, Wu-Tang) ; a demi-monde populated by beautiful losers, hustlers with hearts of gold and all manner of angels or demons, now flightless from flying too close to the sun.

Onstage they erupt with a rollicking joie de vivre in almost flagrant flouting of the often darkly poignant subject matter. Informed by every rock record from Howlin' Wolf to Wolfmother, they seem to say "we're all stuck down here together, so let's have a good time."

Burn the songs onto a CD. Print out the cover. Very carefully, preferably under adult supervision, cut out the CD cover with scissors. Steal the jewel case off of one of Dad's old Grateful Dead CD's and voila! You Little Sir or Madame are knee deep in the tawdry world of Music Piracy, Aaaaargh!

Richard's Solo album Jet Black & Beautiful, coming out this summer, features guest appearances by Sami Yaffa (New York Dolls, Hanoi Rocks, Joan Jett) Frank Ferrer (Guns N'Roses, Psychedelic Furs) Christine Smith (Jesse Malin, Ryan Adams) and a rowdy rogues gallery of friends and fellow Criminals.

"With a little help from my friends.

The album is 98% done, Dr Yaffa is just taking care of the last sprinkles of fairy dust.
I had no idea it was gonna take so long.

FEBRUARY 17th 2007

I recently contacted Ricky to find out how things are going with the new album...
Here's the latest update:

"I've been concentrating on making myself small and quiet for the past few months.

Making the album with Sami [Yaffa], trying to collaborate long distance wasn't working out, so I've backed off and left him to it. It's very nearly finished, finished properly. It sounds great, I'm really excited.

I'm in the process of getting a live group together. I hope to have a show booked for early March. I've been writing loads.

Ciao fer Now

-Ricky"
